I’m M. Amor Monet, an urban fiction romance author who writes stories rooted in love, healing, found family, and survival. With characters learning how to hold it together even when life tries to break them.

My debut series, What Love Cost Me, follows Ja’Liyah Monroe and Zaire Duvernay through passion, pain, secrets, and the kind of love that challenges you to grow.

First and very important, I was born and raised in Detroit 📍I’m an introvert who sometimes tries to be an extrovert. I enjoy being around people, especially those with positive, like-minded energy. I’m also a mom, and my child is my reason for everything I do. Her name inspired my author name, and she’s the reason I decided to pursue writing seriously. I wanted her to grow up seeing her mama chase something meaningful. Without her, this story would probably still be sitting in the notes on my phone.

I’ve always loved reading, and I discovered my passion for writing in middle school. I still have journals filled with random stories. In high school, I published my first book on Wattpad — a fanfic, of course — and I also have a popular story there that still circulates in Wattpad communities today… and only one person in my real life knows I wrote it.
